BAGUIO CITY, Philippines – February 22 and 23 marked this year’s Panagbenga Festival in the Summer Capital of the Philippines. 

With the theme “Inspiring the Community for a Greener Tomorrow,” organizations and individuals gathered to participate in the colorful occasion, which featured a parade of street dancers as well as a lineup of elaborate floats. (READ: Your guide to Panagbenga 2014)

Floats inspired by Hollywood movies like Epic and Despicable Me 2 had the crowd chuckling, while floats with Chinese and Egyptian touches also put other cultures in the spotlight. These all showed off the best of the city’s beautiful flowers; the simplest of the floats used at least 1,000 bundles. 

Meanwhile, Kamora National High school from Kabayan, Benguet, was named the champion at this year’s street dancing competition. (In photos: Panagbenga 2013)
