ARROYO’S TRIAL FOR PLUNDER TO PROCEED
Anti-graft court Sandiganbayan denies former President Gloria Arroyo’s motion to dismiss her case.
The court’s decision paves the way for Arroyo’s trial for plunder
over the alleged misuse of Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office funds worth P365.9 million.
This means Arroyo’s camp now has the burden to present counter-evidence for her acquittal.

SC TO HEAR ORAL ARGUMENTS ON JUNJUN BINAY SUSPENSION
The Supreme Court is set to hear arguments against a court order,
stopping the suspension of Makati Mayor Junjun Binay.
Supreme Court Spokesman Theodore Te announces, the oral arguments on the Ombudsman’s petition will be held Tuesday.
The Ombudsman earlier filed a petition asking the High Court
to stop the Court of Appeals from implementing the temporary restraining order on Binay’s suspension.

AQUINO ‘DOING TOO LITTLE’ TO #SAVEMARYJANE – OFW GROUP
Overseas Filipino worker group Migrante
International says the Philippine government “did too little, too late” to save a Filipina on Indonesia’s death row.
Migrante believes Filipina Mary Jane Veloso’s case was not thoroughly investigated saying it’s a mistrial.
Veloso is sentenced to death by firing squad for attempting to smuggle 2.6 kilograms of heroin into Indonesia.
Indonesia faces international criticism for rejecting appeals of foreign governments to spare their citizens on death row,
while making similar requests to other countries where Indonesians face the same charges.

The ad shows the two fighters meeting face-to-face in their boxing attire with the MGM Grand Las Vegas in the horizon.
