Rachel Alejandro on cousin Nino’s ‘Voice PH’ exit

MANILA, Philippines – Singer Rachel Alejandro thanked everyone for supporting her cousin Nino who was eliminated on Sunday, February 15 on The Voice of the Philippines. (READ: Rachel Alejandro’s cousin Nino auditions for ‘The Voice PH’)

“Nagtapos na ang kanyang journey sa The Voice pero thank you, thank you from the bottom of our hearts ng Alejandro family, maraming, maraming salamat po sa inyong lahat.”

(His journey on The Voice has ended, but thank you, thank you from the bottom of our hearts in the Alejandro family. Thank you very much to all.)

“From the Alejandro family, maraming, maraming salamat to everyone who supported Nino Alejandro on The Voice of the Philippines. We love you all and we can assure you this is not the end but a fresh start for Nino,” Rachel said.

In a previous article for Rappler, Rachel recalled how Nino worked hard to become the musician he is, saying that she’s proud of him no matter what. 

“If Nino doesn’t win, life goes on. We will all be sad for a while, but knowing him, his relentless spirit will only inspire him to get better and better. Because that’s who he is. He loves what he does and his family even more. Until his last breath, he will give you, his audience, his heart and sould,” she said. 

During his last live show as a contestant, Nino performed “I Wanna Know What Love Is” by Foreigner. 

Nino’s journey on the show came to an end after Lea Salonga, his coach on the show, chose Leah Patricio to join Timmy Pavino in the next round.

On his Facebook, Nino thanked everyone who supported him on his journey in the show.

“Sorry it might have taken me a little long to post this. I honestly needed a little time to gather myself. There are so many things I want to say and I can’t seem to find the words to say them, so let me just start with the most important words of all – THANK YOU. Sobrang salamat sa lahat (Thank you to all) – to my family for your tireless efforts, to my friends, the wonderful supporters, to the NinoRockerz, Ninoholics, and Team Lea United, and to everyone who has cheered me on during this incredible adventure and shared words of encouragement. I would not have made it here without all of you.

“Thank you to the amazing team and awesome band of The Voice of the Philippines for being so wonderful to work with. I am in awe of all of you and how you put together this amazing show week in and week out. Thank you for the encouragement and all the laughs and fun along the way. Thank you for letting me perform on your incredible stage,” Nino said.

“And to my amazing coach… Wow. What an adventure it has been with you. Coach Lea Salonga, there are really no words that can fully express my gratitude, appreciation, and love for you and everything you’ve done for me. Thank you for believing in me, for giving me this chance for my voice to be heard, and for making me believe that even after all this time, I still have something left to give. I will be ‪#‎TeamLea‬ ‪#‎FamiLea‬ for life.

“My time on the Voice may have ended here, but my journey is just beginning. When God closes a door he truly opens a window, and masakit man mawala ito (it maybe painful that it ended), I know that there are other plans for me and I look forward to them with an open heart. I’m ready.
